Watch Player Plays Podcasts From Apple Watch Directly

While Apple is hyping up the arrival of the Apple Watch 2, there are still very underrated apps for the former model, which people haven't discovered yet. The WatchPlayer in particular is an app extremely useful for playing back Podcast episodes without the hassle of searching for a handset or external speaker.

The app easily allows people who own an Apple Watch to play full podcast episodes without the need of any optional gadget. As 9to5Mac reports, the app is an convenient tool for saving full episodes and saving them in the device's storage for offline playback.

The wonder of the WatchPlayer also allows users to playback files without an earphone, using just the built-in speaker. However, this may not be applicable in every situation, but the suitability certainly count in times where people have no access to an optional earpiece.

In order to setup, users will need to download the iPhone app as it will be necessary to transfer the episodes. Users can opt to use the iTunes podcast directory and have them pasted in the feed URL inside the Watch Player app. Afterwards, the transfer can be done.

Users also have the option to trim a particular podcast episode for faster downloading or filtered playback. This can be done by tapping the episode and by selecting the start time.

Once done, tapping the "Transfer" button starts the copying process. Users should take note that the transfer process is not as speedy as one might expect and the interface isn't the best-looking either. Still, Watch Players is one of the few apps dedicated for Apple Watch, which does a good job of saving and playing offline versions of podcast episodes.

The Watch Player interface for Watch Player is very simple as well, though the playback is streamlined. A list of transferred podcast episodes are listed down and it only takes a single tap to play them back. There's a minimal delay between files, but this can be overlooked.
