World's Strongest Beer: Brewmeister Brewery's 65 Precent Brew

With a 65 percent alcohol volume, Brewmeister Armageddon could be the world's strongest beer. Fox News reports that a Scottish brewery, Brewmeister, claims their brew has topped the list as strongest beer in the world.

Most beers are only at an average of 4 to 10 percent ABV.

Fox news reported that the beer is brewed with ingredients such as flaked oats, Scottish spring water and crystal malt. It goes through a process called "freeze fermenting, which is done by drastically lowering the temperature and repeatedly removing the first part to freeze, leaving behind only the richest alcohol content," reported Fox News.

The Huffington Post reported that Brewmeister's production director, John MacKenzie said to the Donside Piper and Herald that the beer "has a viscous quality to it." And founder Lewis Shand said, "The phrase 'delivers a punch' doesn't quite cut it -- delivers a supersonic charged explosion is probably more appropriate!"

Brewmeister brewers say that the beer should be sipped and served in small doses, according to Fox News. Currently the beer is not available to the U.S. market but it can be purchased on their website.

Brewmeister says of its world's strongest beer on their website, "Despite being 65%, this beer has lots of flavour. It's slightly sweet, hoppy, malty and retains much of the yeast present during fermentation.

Bottles are conditioned but we recommend people drink this in 35ml measures. So drink with friends to save it going flat."

Other breweries have tried to create strong beers but nothing has been quite as strong as Brewmeister's. Fox News reported Brewdog in Scotland made "Tactical Nuclear Penguin" which was 32 percent alcohol and a "Sink the Bismarck at 41 percent as well as a whopping 55 percent alcohol brew called "The End of History". Schorsbrau in Germany made a 40 percent beer called Schorschbock.
