‘Arrested Development’ All Set For Season 5; Actors’ Contracts Ironed Out

"Arrested Development" season 5 is about to happen as all issues concerning the actors have been neatly ironed out. Executive producer Brian Grazer has told the press that the show is about to start production. He said that they have finalized the salaries of the actors and their respective work schedules have been properly agreed upon.

"We found a way to create the compensation structure for all the actors and create a work matrix so they can still make movies and do other things and it will all integrate," Grazer said. "So we are really close - I think within a couple of weeks at the most," he added as reported by Huffington Post.

These have been the issues of the previous seasons that have affected the production in one way or another. But now, the executive reiterated that fans will just wait a little more time.

The show aired in 2003 and 2006 but was later canceled. It has staged a comeback in 2013 for season 4 on Netflix. However, it was not perfectly made. Jason Bateman who played the titular role said that season 4 has some parts that were "a little confusing and frankly underwhelming for the audience." He also mentioned that the show creator has some lapses also. The scheduling conflicts were deemed to be the reason for the failure.

Around 2014, Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer said that the network wanted to produce a season 5. But contracts negotiations were difficult to lay down as per Business Insider. This time there seem to be no hindrances anymore.

All the former issues were properly addressed and all the actors are into the success of "Arrested Development." The stellar cast includes Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, David Cross and Will Arnett.
