'Deadpool' Sequel Gets More Characters But Still Focused On Hero Of Movie

The second "Deadpool" film will have more new characters taken from the comics. The "Deadpool" movie has been a financial success and received favorable critical response. The superhero film though has surprisingly received award recognition and may be in line for more.

According to movie website Film, the sequel to "Deadpool" is going to have a bigger scope than the first movie although it will not be a huge movie. The screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick together with the star Ryan Reynolds know that character is what made the movie work. They stressed the importance of not forgetting that fact.

It is the foul-mouthed flawed hero and the small group of people he surrounds himself with that carries the superhero movie. The film only has a handful of main characters and plenty of interior scenes. The next movie will have to deal with a larger number of characters.

Screenwriters such as Reese and Wernick can offer more focus to supporting characters after the hero and other main characters have been established properly. An example of this is Cable, who was mentioned in the first movie to be appearing in the sequel.

The duo were asked if the sequel would be stand-alone film to find out if there would be any X-Men who would be making an appearance. The screenwriters stressed that the sequel would be a solo film even though it would add many more characters.

Entertainment website Inverse reported that Reese said that it would indeed be a solo movie. He said it will be populated with a lot of characters but it will still be Deadpool's movie.

They are pushing forward very hard. The screenwriter thinks that by every account, they will shoot the movie this year. They are now also on their multiple draft.

They are very excited that the movie is taking shape even if it has taken different twists and turns. "Deadpool 2" is expected to be released in theaters in 2018.
