Apple will be making another huge announcement today during an event in which many believe the iPad mini will be revealed. While they didn't live stream the iPhone 5 announcement in September, Apple will live stream the October 23 event to some extent.
The October 23 "Apple Special Event" will take place at 10 a.m. Pacific/ 1p.m. Eastern Time from the California Theatre in San Jose.
Apple announced that they will live stream the event on Apple TV. Those with Apple TV may notice a new channel called "Apple Events." By clicking on this icon, users will be able to watch live coverage of the conference right from their Apple TV. They can also watch coverage of previous Apple events.
Apple will also live stream the event on their website, but it is restricted to mostly Apple product users. A note on the Apple Event website says that to view the live stream, you must have Safari 4 or later on OS X 10.6 or later on a Mac. Those with other Apple products may be able to watch it if they have Safari 4.2 or later.

UStream has a link in which they will have live stream coverage of the event, but not an actual video from the event. You can find that by clicking here.
There will also be live blogs covering the event. When the iPhone 5 was announced, Engadget had an excellent, constantly updated live blog that included real-time photos from the event. To see their coverage of the October 23 event, Click Here.
CNET will also have a live blog of the event.
Apple did not confirm what product they will be revealing this time, as they released an invitation that simply said "We've got a little more to show you." However rumors suggest that it will be a new iPad, specifically the iPad Mini.
The iPad Mini is expected to be the smallest model yet, with a screen measuring 7.85 inches and a 16:9 aspect ratio,. It will come in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions and there will be Wi-Fi and cellular options. Rumors suggest that Apple will announce November 2 and the release date for this new iPad.
Some photos of a possible iPad Mini have already leaked on the internet. To see one of them, click here.
The site reports that the new iPad mini may cost £200 or $250 for the 8GB version, which is bound to give other new tablets some stiff competition, such as the new Microsoft Surface tablet and the Kindle Fire HD.
However, PC Mag suggested that the price of the 64GB cellular iPad mini may be $840.
In addition to the iPad Mini, Apple is expected to introduce a 13 inch Retina Macbook Pro and maybe even a new Mac Mini.
