Lance Armstrong Stripped of Tour de France Titles and Banned for Life [VIDEO]

Lance Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned for life by the Cycling governing body on Monday.

NBC News reported that Lance was stripped of his titles after the U.S. Anti Doping Agency accused Armstrong of leading doping programs on his cycling teams.

"Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling," President of the International Cycling Union Pat McQuaid said to NBC News.

McQuaid added at a news conference in Switzerland according to The New York Times, "We've come too far in the fight against doping to go back to the past. Something like this must never happen again."

NBC News reported that from 1999 to 2005 Armstrong won Tour de France titles. Director of Tour de France said earlier according to NBC News that there would be no official winners if he was stripped of his titles.

The agency said that many of the winners from 1999 to 2005 are related to doping. NBC News reported that they said they were "directly tied to likely doping through admissions, sanctions, public investigations."

The New York Times reported that the World Anti-Doping Agency has 21 days to appeal the ruling. Armstrong, who still denies he has ever used drugs, was charged in June "with using banned performance-enhancing drugs and blood transfusions, and with encouraging their use among his teammates, to help him win races," reported The New York Times.

Approximately two weeks ago the antidoping agency released their evidence to the public of Armstrong's doping including testimonys from teammates.
