Traveler at Denver International Airport Finds a Gun in the Bathroom

A businessman at Denver International Airport found a handgun in a men's bathroom stall on Thursday. The Denver Post reported that Bob Young found the gun at approximately 5:50 a.m.

The Denver Post reported that he found the gun in Concourse C where travelers go through security check points.

He immediately decided to report the gun. "Young immediately decided not to touch the weapon, which was in a holster and off to the side of a toilet. He was rushing to leave the restroom to alert airport security about the find when he nearly bumped into a security agent," reported The Denver Post.

According to The Denver Post authorities found out that that the gun belonged to someone who was authorized to carry a gun aboard an aircraft and it was screend by the TSA.

Authorities declined to identify the owner of the gun and said there was no criminal element involved so no charges would be filed.

Young said to The Denver Post,"At least they found out who it belongs to and it wasn't part of a terrorist attempt."

On Oct. 2 a loaded gun was found in a man's carryoon at Piedmont Triad International Airport in North Carolina. The News and Record reported that Charles Goodard, 55, was charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a loaded, concealed weapon.

"Goodard was going through the security checkpoint at 5:10 a.m. when Transportation Security Administration agents saw a loaded .45-caliber pistol in his bag. Jon Allen, spokesman for the TSA, said the gun was spotted as the bag went through the X-ray machine," reported The News and Record.
