Mubarak Hamad, a wealthy Arab prince, was charged with being drunk on a plane after he was thrown off a passenger flight by police officers back in July.
Hamad, a 29-year-old Bahraini national, caused quite a scene when he boarded a Boeing 777 British Airways flight on July 22. Hamad apparently had a bit too much to drink and started shouting and complaining about the service on flight BA125 from Heathrow airport via Bahrain to Doha, Qatar, according to the Daily Mail.
Hamad reportely stormed the cockpit and wouldn't go back to his seat, so the flight crew called police who arrived with 50,000 volt Taser guns. It it not clear if they had to use them on the billionaire, but police did drag him off the plane and took him to the police station near Heathrow airport so he could be photographed for a mugshot and fingerprinted, according to the Daily Mail.
Hamad was released on bail but he is still being charged for his drunken antics. He will have to appear in court in late October.
"Mubarak Hamad, 29, of Belgravia, was charged on October 17th with being drunk on an aircraft and has been bailed to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court," a Scotland Yard spokesman told the Daily Mail.
Hamad is supposedly related to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. According to the Daily Mail, he lives in Eaton Square, Belgravia, which is a highly coveted address in London.
Wealthy people such as advertising mogul, Charles Saatchi and his wife, food write Nigella Lawson live there, as well as James Bond actors Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Chelsea football manager Jose Mourinho. is also a resident of Eaton Square.
King Hamad isn't very popular among human rights activists as they have criticized him for using violence to repress pro-democracy activists, according to the Daily Mail.
