Darth Vader's wife was punched in the face during an assault in the UK. Darth Vader's neighbor meant to throw the punch at him, but he accidentally struck Mrs. Vader instead as she tried to defend her husband.
While this all could have been solved using light sabers, Mr. Vader was only left with his hands to defend himself as his neighbor attacked him because he thought Vader was having an affair with his girlfriend.
Mr. Vader isn't really the bad guy from the "Star Wars" films. He's just a man from Walsall, England who changed his name in tribute. Mark Nokes changed his name to Darth Vader for charity many years ago, according to the Birmingham Mail.
So Mr. Vader didn't have any futuristic weapons to defend himself when his neighbor, Ikbal Hare, 35, attacked him. Hare suspected Vader of having a relationship with his girlfriend Kerry Campbell.
As Hare tried to attack Mr.Vader, Mrs. Vader stepped in and Hare punched her in the right cheek. Mrs. Vader then forced her husband to stay indoors when Hare began to use a brick as a weapon.
When confronted about the cheating accusations, Mr. Vader denied ever having a relationship with Campbell.
Hare has been punished in court for hitting Mrs. Vader.
Prosecutor Tim Sapwell explained the situation to the Wolverhampton Crown Court, according to the Birmingham Mail.
"There was a scuffle involving the two men and Mrs Vader tried to get between them, " Sapwell said.
"The defendant struck her but there is evidence that, in fact, he had been trying to hit Darth Vader. Hare then picked up a brick and he threw sand into the face of Darth Vader whose wife was so worried about him getting further involved in the dispute that she locked him in their house," Sapwell continued.
At one point, Hare got a knife. He was eventually chased off by witnesses and was arrested two days later at his girlfriend's house.
Hare admitted to the assault, possession of the knife, and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 18 months of community service as well as 18 months of supervision and anger management. He must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work. Hare may have received a more serious punishment if he did not remove himself from the scene and cause further trouble.
"He knows he behaved badly. Whatever provocation there had been there was no excuse for what he did," Hare's defendant, Jas Mann told the Birmingham Mail.
Darth Vader and his wife did not receive any charges in the incident.
