The CW television network is currently developing a reboot for the American TV series "Charmed," which is headed by the Jennie Snyder Urman the creator of "Jane the Virgin." The original series was created by Constance M. Burge which has eight seasons for its 178 episodes.
According to Variety, Jenny Snyder Urman develops the reboot project together with both Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin as the series writers, which has also worked with her in the TV series titled "Jane the Virgin." The trio will also be serving as the shows executive producers, and they will be working with Ben Silverman and Brad Silberling as the shows directors. The original show is a fantasy supernatural-fiction that ran for 40-45 minutes in The WB television network, which was produced by Constance M. Burge, Brad Kern, Aaron Spelling, and E. Duke Vincent.
The stars of the original series were Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan as the three gifted sisters, which are also known as the Charmed Ones. The sisters have the ability to conjure magic which they use in facing their adversaries. On the other hand, the details of the reboot are still unclear but one thing is for certain the series will be set in the year of 1976 instead of modern times.
According to IGN, this is not the first time a revival for the TV series "Charmed" was announced, and it was earlier hinted back in 2013. In fact, "Charmed" is just one of the many reboots on its way to television, and it is also not the first series getting a revival that will come to The CW network.
Some of the shows that are currently being developed by the network are "The Lost Boys," a new series which is based on "The Notebook," and a modern age show which is based on the film "Frequency."
