With the recent news of an iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool possibility, users stuck with the locked OS have gained hope of finally getting to experience a working tool. However, while it may still take some time to come around, some few preparations are essential and this involves saving the current SHSH2 blobs as outlined in this simple guide in using Prometheus and TSSCheker.
Last December, hacker Tihmstar have released his iOS downgrade tool called Prometheus (via iDownload Blog) and this happened to be one of the essential applications solely for jailbreak use. Still, the tool can prove to be useful for certain scenarios where older devices have challenges running smoothly and properly on later versions of iOS with a huge version gap.
As what we've covered earlier, even hacker Luca Todesco advised people to start preparing for an eventual jailbreak tool for iOS 10.2 and this is prior to the 10.2.1 version release. Fortunately, the most important step can be done now by following these steps in backing up iOS 10.2's SHSH2 blobs.

Once the archive is downloaded, simply extract it anywhere in the computer for access. The user, then, have to open the executable file called TextEdit and connect the device to the computer followed by opening the latest version of iTunes.
From the iTunes screen, the user needs to get the device's "ECID" and "Model." These things can be found by clicking the "Serial Number" button on the iTunes screen.
Once these information have been acquired, the user needs to head back to the TextEdit document and paste the copied ECID and Model. The following format should be carefully followed;
