Thailand, one of the best culture hubs in Southeast Asia, is one of the top places you should visit befor you die. That being said, people commonly think twice before traveling because of the cost, but you can actually enjoy the beauty of Thailand without depleting your funds!
Considered as one of the cheapest travel destinations in the world, Thailand awaits you with their rich culture, mouthwatering food, and other fun activities. Here are some travel tips so you could visit Thailand without breaking the bank:
For daily meals, avoid restaurant tourist traps. Although eating at a restaurant can be more convenient, if you really want to save up then avoid eating at those places and just stroll through the streets and stick to the local street food. You'll be surprised that for a complete day of meals you can be well full of genuine Thai cuisine for just spending 50 THB or 1.399 USD! How about that?
Looking for a place to stay? Stay in communal dorm rooms and cheap guesthouses. For communal dorm rooms, this works best if you're with a couple or so friends. Double and triple rooms cost 200 - 300 THB ($6.60 - $9.91), so if you're just by yourself they cost the same, so if you have someone to split the rate with then it's far cheaper! If you're a solo traveler though, choose the budget guesthouses with open-fan rooms, the price difference between them and air-conditioned rooms are actually quite different, and you can use the extra money for other extra splurges.
For transportation, do it like a local. Forget hiring Uber rides for a while! There are tons of cheap transportation options in Thailand, like riding a local bus, which costs around 8 THB,and if you're traveling long-distance, just take the train-it only costs around 50-575 THB. Taxis, Skytrain, or tuk-tuk are also available.
For booze, avoid high-end bars and buy them at 7-11. One of the highlights of a travel trip is catching up with newly-made friends and locals. You don't need to go to trendy bars in the city for this; just buy beer at 7-11 and you'll be amazed at the price difference. It will just cost around 35 THB at 7-11, while buying them at a restaurant or bar will set you back at 100-175 THB.
