Ranthambore National Park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of India's North-Western state Rajasthan. It is one of the largest National Parks of India.

It is one of the largest National Parks of India. The park is about 110 Km far from Kota and 130 Kms away from capital city Jaipur. Sawai Madhopur is nearest railway station which is about 11 Kms away from the park. Initially in the year 1955 Ranthambore was commissioned as Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary by Indian Government and in 1973 'Project Tiger' reserve is founded here. Declared as national park in 1980, this Ranthambore witnessed extension when Sawai Man Singh and Keladevi sanctuaries merged in it in 1991.
The endangered species tiger are the center of attraction of Ranthambore. These wildest predators of Jungles can be spotted even during day time whether they are hunting, feeding or resting. It is always a fun and satisfying experience to watch such majestic animals in their natural habitat. Months from November to May are considered as best time to visit National Park, during the said time frame mercury level lowers down and dry deciduous forests makes spotting wild species common.
Ranthambore touches Banas River in the north and Chambal River in the south. Spread over 392 Km2 of area, this park housed numerous lakes and Ranthambhore fortress. Besides tiger the other major animal species of the park are leopard, Sambar, Hyena, Nilgai, Wild boar, Chital and Sloth Bear.

Forests - Typically the forest is dry deciduous. Around 539 species of flowering plants provide the shelter and food the animal species.
Tigers - The Park is famous for the sight of tigers. Home to government of India's 'Project Tiger' Ranthambore provide safe haven for these endangered species. Even in the sunlight they can be seen freely roaming.
Safari Rides - Two rides are carried out during a day and rides lasts for 3 hours. The timings are 06:30 and 14:30. Further, for the safari two types of vehicles are provided: 6 seater open top gypsy and 20 seater open top canter. Out of several core zone only in one zone visitor could visit.
Ranthambore Fort - This 10th century old magnificent fort covers the park's entire area. Inside fort one can view three temples constructed from red Karauli stone.
Padam Talao - This is the largest lake of park. Jogi Mahal and gigantic banyan tree are located near to it.The large tiger population is the key attraction of Ranthambore National Park.
