'Pokemon Go' Tips: New Baby Pokemon Guides And Charts Help Catch Them All

In the middle of December of last year, Niantic, the developer of "Pokemon Go", introduced baby Pokemon to the mobile game. Niantic did not provide a whole lot of details regarding the baby Pokemon nor for the update that added them to the game.

Basically, they left it up to players to try to do some research to get more information on how to obtain and evolve the new Pokemon. A lot of initial details regarding these baby versions of the titular creatures of the game has already been revealed, discussed and analyzed.

For those Pokemon trainers who don't already know, technology website CNET reveals that there are seven baby Pokemon that were added to the game. These represent the initial batch of second generation Pokemon to be included in "Pokemon Go." The seven baby Pokemon are Cleffa, Igglybuff, Pichu, Togepi, Elekid, Magby and Smoochum.

They can only be obtained by hatching them from eggs. The eggs are no different from any other egg found at PokeStops. Each baby Pokemon can be hatched from one of the three different kinds of eggs. Cleffa and Igglybuff can be hatched from 2km eggs.

Pichu and Togepi can be hatched from 5km eggs. Elekid, Magby and Smoochum can all be hatched from 10km eggs. Cleffa needs 25 candies to evolve into Clefairy and Igglybuff needs 25 candies to evolve into Jigglypuff. Twenty-five candies are needed for each to evolve Elekid into Electabuzz, Magby into Magmar and Smoochum into Jynx.

Pichu needs 25 candies to evolve into Pikachu and Togepi needs 50 candies to evolve into Togetic. Togetic is the first of the generation 2 adult Pokemon to be added to Pokemon Go. Togetic can't be hatched from an egg. The only way to get Togetic is to hatch Togepi and evolve it.

According to media website OtakuKart's AnimeBlog, a new egg list and chart for Pokémon Go Gen 2 was recently published to assist new Pokemon trainers unfamiliar with the new Pokemon Go updates. Reddit user MajklikCZ put together and posted to the Silph Road subreddit the nice and simple chart for the baby Pokemon.

When a baby Pokemon is hatched for the first time, the Pokedex index jumps from 151 entries to 173. This includes the new baby Pokemon and, likely, additional new Pokemon to be added later. These unknown new Pokemon may join Togetic as another batch of second generation Pokemon to appear in Pokemon Go.
