As 2016's eighth highest-grossing film worldwide, "Deadpool" is apparently a massive hit. It was also critically acclaimed and Ryan Reynolds may win his first major acting award, thanks to his character. With all this achievement, it's no wonder the actor would feel anxious. Thank goodness he has his wife's full support.
According to Variety, Reynold's biggest fear is disappointing his fans. He said that when they were in post and in Comic-Con, people went crazy about the movie and that the expectations of were "eating him alive". But his wife, actress Blake Lively, calmed his anxious nerves. "Blake helped me through that," Reynolds says. "I'm lucky to have her around just to keep me sane."
Reynolds and Lively met in 2010 while filming "Green Lantern". They started dating in 2011 and got married in 2012. They are parents to two girls, and are living in upstate New York.
Reynolds never denied his struggle with anxiety, E! News reported. He has three older brothers and his father was never easy on all of them. The actor said that his anxiety might have started there, but he never recognized it at the time, saying he was just a "twitchy" kid.
Now that the beautiful couple has a family of their own, blessings are pouring in. "Deadpool" is the first ever live-action comic-book movie to get nominated for best-picture at the Golden Globes, competing in the musical/comedy category.
This year, Reynolds will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the space thriller, "Life". He will also be seen in "The Hitman's Bodyguard", a summer action movie. With all these movies lined up, his primary focus is still on "Deadpool". How long is he going to play Wade Wilson? "I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool," Reynolds said.
