'Pokémon Sun and Moon' News: Concept Art Focuses On Game’s Primary Villain

The main villain of "Pokémon Sun and Moon" did not get revealed until somewhere very late in the game. Gamers were also finally able to understand how the game's story all tied together once the villain was revealed.

Photos of the concept art were posted by Pokeshopper owner Paul Ryan on his Twitter account. Anyone who has yet to play the game may want to avoid reading this article any further as it contains potential spoilers ahead.

The concept art shows Lusamine holding the special case that she uses to lock away Nebby and a highly detailed breakdown showing how the cage works. In "Pokémon Sun and Moon," the cage was originally designed to contain the legendary Pokémon Cosmog, who could then turn to either Lunala or Solgaleo.

The illustrations also show the box's indicator lights which light up blue whenever a Pokémon is contained within it. If the box is empty, the lights are dim and fade to black, matching the color of the box itself.

Players will not see much of the box until some time very late in the game when Lusamine finally reveals her plans. Her goal is to open up a wormhole to the Ultra Space dimension so she can unleash the Ultra Beasts upon the world. Since ordinary Poke Balls are not going to be enough to capture these creatures, the box will presumably be used to capture them.

As described by Cinema Blend, the concept art provides us with plenty of depth and information on how Lusamine could have potentially used the box to capture the Ultra Beasts, something that would become a central theme of the game later on. It is also interesting to note that the Cosmog featured throughout the game was being carried around by one of the game's primary characters, Lillie, the daughter of Lusamine.
