The stars of the original National Lampoon's Vacation have reunited. Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Dana Barron and Anthony Michael Hall who played the hilarious Griswold family in the iconic film, have come together as part of Entertainment Weekly's annual Reunions issue.
It has been nearly 30 years since National Lampoon's Vacation hit theaters and the Griswold's attempted to take a trip to Wally World, but the cast of the film still remain close.
The reunion between Chevy Chase (Clark), Beverly D'Angelo (Ellen), Anthony Michael Hall ( "Rusty") and Dana Barron (Audrey) proved that they're still like the dysfunctional family members that they played and they're still hilarious.
"It's the best family and rapport of actors I've ever seen," says Barron, 46, told EW. She explained that they get together for more than just reunions as they're still on good times.
During this video shoot for Good Morning America, Hall and Barron, who played the kids of Chase and D'Angelo in the film, sat in the back of their fictional parents, as if they were still in the back of the Family Truckster station wagon in the 1983 film.
"Michael and I had the funniest time. [Chase and D'Angelo] were going on and on, and they tried to do the Mockingbird song from the movie, trying to remember the words. Michael and I were just doing bunny ears behind them and rolling our eyes when they got to bickering. I felt all of a sudden like we're brother and sister again, dealing with our parents and their issue," Barron told EW.
The cast has all moved on to other notable projects since the film, as the comedy was a definite boost to their acting careers. Chase, now 68, has appeared in several films, but his latest gig is playing Pierce Hawthorne on Community. D'Angelo also did several films, but she spent many years on shows such as Law & Order: SVU and Entourage.
Hall went on to star in another icon 80's film, The Breakfast Club and he later appeared in TV series The Dead Zone. Barron went on to star in the show No Means No, which she won an Emmy for and Beverly Hills 90210.
While they all had success in their individual careers, the actors also reunited on various projects over the years. D'Angelo went on to star in the Vacation sequels with Chase, but they also did commercials together and even did the voice-overs for an episode of Family Guy.
D'Angelo told EW that Vacation "sparked the great friendship I have with Chevy to this day. He calls me his second wife."
Hall also joined Chase for a 2009 episode of Community. He says that they still have the same relationship that they did on set of Vacation.
"When he pulled up for the Entertainment Weekly shoot I was outside with Beverly, and Chevy pulls up in his Benz. As he slowly starts to open his car door, he looked at me and said, 'Can I get a coffee?," Hall tells EW.
Entertainment Weekly often features TV show and movie reunions. The National Lampoon's Vacation issue hits stands this week. Recently, the cast of "Full House" also had a reunion for the shows 25th anniversary.
