"Overwatch" fans who enjoyed the game's special Christmas event still have one more reason to be happy as they will be getting a special anniversary surprise from the developers. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Diablo, developers Blizzard will be introducing special bonuses in all of their games, including "Overwatch."
"Overwatch" players will be receiving special in-game sprays representing the different classes found in "Diablo III." A new player icon modeled after "Diablo" himself will also be available in the coming days.
This will mark the end of "Overwatch's Winter Wonderland" event that began on December and will officially end on January 2. The event features plenty of new skins and game content, and a whole lot more.
The event has already ended for Xbox One and PS4 players, as reported by The Express. Players who were able to unlock items from the Winter Loot Boxes will get to keep them permanently. The Winter Loot Boxes that were released during the event could either be earned or purchased, and players had more than contained random items in them.
The new game mode included in the special event is called Mei's Snowball Offensive, which is a 6 versus 6 single elimination game where players fire snowballs at one other instead of the usual weapons found in the game.
"Overwatch" continues to be one of the most popular and highly played games in the world and has also made headlines recently after announcing that one of the main characters is gay. In a report by the Daily Herald, the character was revealed to be Tracer - the dual pistol-wielding hero who is in a relationship with her female roommate. Even with the end of the Christmas event, fans are still speculating that the developers will be releasing another special update for the Chinese New Year.
