Carrie Fisher Net Worth: Star Wars Actress’ Death Results In Largest Personal Accident Insurance Claim

Carrie Fisher's death has resulted in what is soon to be the largest personal accident insurance claim to date. The massive insurance claim has been revealed to be worth $51 million and was first reported by the Insurance Insider. The contract protection cover was provided by Lloyds of London in the event Fisher was unable to fulfill her roles in the upcoming Star Wars films.

According to an earlier report published by The Sun, the iconic Princess Leia actress had already filmed her scenes for the upcoming Episode VIII, which is scheduled to premiere next year. However, she was also expected to have a major role in the sci-fi franchise's ninth installment.

The insurance policy was written by Exceptional Risk Advisors, a specialist managing general agent based in New Jersey. According to experts, the loss will be borne entirely capacity providers from Lloyd's. Atrium, a subsidiary of Enstar will serve as the lead of the facility.

Fisher died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack on a flight between London and L.A. A day later, her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, also passed away after suffering a stroke in her Beverly Hills home. Reynolds' stroke was believed to have been a result of the heartbreak that she felt over Carrie's untimely death.

There have been some suggestions that Fisher's Princess Leia character will now be digitally recreated in the subsequent Star Wars films. Fisher was paid more than $1,200,000 in December 2015 to reprise her role in the film series.

Fisher rose to prominence portraying the princess in the original Star Wars trilogy. She has also starred in other films and has worked behind the scenes as a script doctor. She has also earned praise for speaking publicly about her struggles with drug addiction and bipolar disorder. She is survived by her brother, Todd Fisher, a TV commercial director, and daughter Billie Lourd.
