Church In Sri Lanka Accidentally Prints Tupac's 'Hail Mary' Instead Of Prayer

What's supposed to be a holy, harmless Christmas carol service in Sri Lanka turned out to be quite a hilarious, embarrassing event when the organizers accidentally printed the wrong "Hail Mary" song. They downloaded Tupac's rap version instead.

Last December 11, The Archdiocese of Colombo, Father Silva, has organized a carol service fundraiser called "Joy to the World 2016: A Festival of Music for Peace & Harmony", one of the biggest carol services in Sri Lanka. Everything is serene and sanctified until the attendees saw the printed lyrics of Tupac's "Hail Mary" instead of the traditional Christmas prayer in their booklet.

Churchgoer Andrew Chosky, who attended the event, said that he was shocked when he recognized the lyrics. He shared it on Twitter and since then got a thousand shares all over the world. "A lot of people around us were in shock as to whether it was a joke, or if someone would actually rap the song," he said. "A few of the older ladies in front of us could not stop looking at the printed booklet."

"No explanation was given at all," Chosky added. "They didn't acknowledge it at the venue. To be honest, I don't think many people saw the booklet at all. The people that realised were shocked at first but then took it in good humour around me."

Apparently, it was a young altar boy who committed the mistake, according to Father Silva. Some lyrics in the rap song says "Now pay attention, rest in peace father. I'm a ghost in these killing fields. Hail Mary catch me if I go, let's go deep inside the solitary mind of a madman who screams in the dark."

"The page was in the middle of the booklet. When people looked at this page, they saw it before the start of the show. Two people saw it and alerted us to it," Father Silva explained. "We are very sorry to say that this happened."
