Save #BettyWhite from 2016 Trends On Twitter

The year 2016 has claimed fan favorites throughout this year! It claimed David Bowie and Prince earlier this year, then in the past week, George Michael was found dead due to heart failure at his home on December 25th and recently, Carrie Fisher died of a heart attack. Is there a more vengeful year?

This is why fans on Twitter have made the hashtag, #BettyWhite, trend in order to appeal to the public that protecting her from 2016 is a high priority.

Betty White is known for her numerous roles in both tv and movies but has gained fame from her character in the 80's sitcom, "Golden Girls" which ran for 7 seasons ending in 1992. Her character Rose Nyland made her character interesting with her tall tales of her life in St. Olaf, her well loved dead husband, Charlie, and her love of herring.

When news broke out of Carrie Fisher's death, fans of the almost 94-year-old actress, Betty White, went on Twitter to express their concern for the star. When they found out that she was well and alive, they made it their mission to encourage people closest to the star to keep her safe, until January 1st of 2017 rolls in. One man even went as far as setting up a GoFund Me page urging the public to keep Betty White safe until 2017 comes in as ABC 13 reports.

The year 2016 feels like it was written by George R.R. Martin, the Game Of Thrones author of the series of books the HBO show is based on, known for killing off beloved characters in the most unexpected way. Even he says that there has been too much death this past year, according to Bleeding Cool. There's only a few more days left until 2016 finally passes, here's to hoping that it doesn't claim any more of our favorite people!
