iPhone 5 Prank: Group in Netherlands Super Glues iPhone To Ground, Hilarity Ensues [SEE VIDEO]

Since Apple announced and released the new iPhone 5, millions of people have tried to get their hands on it. A group of people in the Netherlands thought it would be funny to play off of this and make a prank in which they glued an iPhone 5 to the ground. They then caught dozens of people on video as they tried to pick up the coveted iPhone 5 from the pavement with no success.

Apple's iPhone 5 is already sold out in stores across the United States as thousands lined up around stores and pre-ordered the phone online. Apple reports that five million were sold across the US within three days. A group of pranksters in Amsterdam managed to get their hands on one and decided to have a bit of fun with it.

The iPhone 5 won't be released in the Netherlands until Friday, so many were surprised when they spotted one on the ground in the busy Leidseplein square in Amsterdam. However, when they tried to pick it up, it wasn't going anywhere. The pranksters from the website iPhone5.nl super glued the device to the ground. They then set up a hidden camera to catch the dozens of people who tried to pick up the phone and were left a little embarrassed when they realized that it was stuck.

The video shows people stopping to pick up the phone. Many tried, but no one succeeded. Some even tried to kick the phone loose from the ground. They were left scratching their heads and laughing as they walked away from the new technology.

The group that played the prank claimed that they had the first iPhone 5 in the Netherlands, so it seems strange that they would choose to super glue it, but the outcome is hilarious. Since the video was posted to Youtube on Friday, it has received over one million views. The group will probably have no problem affording a few new iPhone 5's.
