Nintendo said Super Mario Run was just the beginning. What else would they offer this coming new year? As the giant gaming company plans on releasing two to three mobile games per year, what do fans and players get?
There are no further information coming from Takeshi Kimishima, president of Nintendo only that he announced the idea of delivering more games per year even after 2017. We only have a little snippet on what players will be having.
Earlier in April, Nintendo announced that it will bring two of its well-loved franchises to mobile phones - Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem. In a press release on March 2015, Nintendo is teaming up Japanese mobile gaming company DeNA to develop more mobile games, along with a new multi-device online membership service.
Originally, Nintendo plans on releasing five mobile games - Miitomo, Super Mario Run and the two mentioned above. Fans speculated that the fifth game is something they would love the most.
Miitomo has over 10 million users and it's the gaming company's first smartphone app that is recognized as the top spot in the free games category. After Miitomo success, Super Mario Run would reach 100 million downloads as predicted by the company.
According to US research firm Annie, Nintendo gained 14 million dollars in three days after delivery, and the proportion of paid is only about 4%. An article in Annie stated, "Super Mario Run's strong performance in the US was also reflected in its usage data. By day three, the game had roughly three million daily active users (DAU) in the US. This puts it among the very top of the iOS Games heap."
The next few months will see more Nintendo fans downloading the game. But trend analytics say to expect more when Nintendo brings a roll of games in to your hands.
