American Airlines Helps To Send 39 Sick Kids To Orlando Florida in 17th Annual mAAgic Flight

American Airlines and the Something mAAgic Foundation are teaming up for a good deed. They are sending 39 children with life-threatening medical conditions and their families on a seven-day trip to Orlando, Florida as part of the Something mAAgic Foundation's 17th annual mAAgic flight .

This year's flight will send the kids and their families to the 70-acre Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, Fla. This area is located right near Orlando's popular family attractions. The flights are being donated by American Airlines and its Miles for Kids in Need program. Over 400 deserving children have taken a trip through this program in its 17 years.

The 39 kids and their families are from eight countries including the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain and Puerto Rico. They will be sent off with bon voyage festivities at 33 airports as they leave their home cities to embark on this adventure. Some will also be greeted with connection and arrival celebrations at airports in Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Miami and New York. The festive greetings include decorations, games and cheers from volunteers from American Airlines, American Eagle and American Airlines Federal Credit Union.

While at the Give Kids The World Village, the kids and their families will be accommodated in their own villas and they will get meals at the Gingerbread House Restaurant. There will be plenty of fun activities for the kids as the village has a wheelchair-accessible waterpark, an Ice Cream Palace, a movie theater, golf course and a playground. All of these amenities are created for kids of all ages.

"I am continually impressed at the incredible amount of time, energy and dedication our people give to this program every year," said Craig Kreeger, American's Senior Vice President - Customer in a release. "Their commitment is what guarantees this program - one that offers an extraordinary experience to families who have endured such hardship - will continue to thrive. We are so proud to be a part of this experience and look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come."

This program is made possible through $1.6 million in donations that were raised to fund the vacation. The Something mAAgic Foundation is a nonprofit organization group that receives help from volunteers who are current and former Americans Airlines employees.
