Nowadays, chatbots are starting to dominate the travel industry in booking hotel services. Big companies such as Expedia and Booking.com are two of the pioneers in using this new customer service, and now, a start-up company called SnapTravel has joined their ranks.
SnapTravel was launched recently this year, and it's now starting to get intense recognition. Founded on July 12th by Hussein Fazal and Henry Shi, SnapTravel is designed to help travelers save time in booking their accommodations by using an interactive half-bot and half-human booking service.
To avail SnapTravel, all you have to do is like their page on Facebook, and send them a private message. Just type in your basic travel information, such as your name, travel dates and desired budget.
A bot will then provide you with several options by quoting the lowest booking rate, and you can use the filter to locate your preferred type of accommodation. A pinch and zoom map is also provided so you can look at the best hotel rates in a certain neighborhood.
You will see a Hotels.com rate in comparison whenever it quotes a certain hotel rate. SnapTravel is able to offer customers the best rate there is because they're connected to dozens of online travel agents, making them accessible to the special lowest rates you couldn't find anywhere else.
"We're 100 percent sure that we've parsed it correctly," Fazal said. "Finding and booking the right hotel is currently a broken and frustrating experience - having to open numerous sites and apps."
Users can also put in special requests during booking. That's when real human customer representatives step in, to accommodate special requests chatbots couldn't comprehend, like rooms with a view, welcome champagne in the booked room, etc.
After booking, SnapTravel will still answer your requests during the duration of you stay. A human customer representative will call your hotel on the day of your arrival to make sure your room and other special requests are taken care of.
The service of SnapTravel is only limited to hotel booking as of the moment, but because of the positive reviews this start-up company is getting, we hope they can accommodate other deals like flight bookings and tours in the near future.
