A Half-Happy 'Star Wars' Christmas: Chewbacca's 'Silent Night' Turns Viral After 17 Years; 'Princess Leia' Carrie Fisher Encounters Heart Attack

It is a Christmas eve of mixed feelings for "Star Wars" fans. Chewbacca's original 1999 recording of the Christmas hit "Silent Night" turns viral after a parody site makes a music video. However, "Princess Leia" Carrie Fisher suffers a heart attack while traveling from London to LA just this Friday and she is reportedly "in stable condition."

According to The Daily Mail, Chewbacca's original 1999 "pitch perfect" rendition of "Silent Night" gets a music video courtesy of parody site "How It Should Have Ended." Originally made by web developer Scott Anderson in 1999 as a joke that turned viral the same year, HISHE revives the song to the tidings of the holidays with a music video made from mashed-up scenes of Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon, footage from "Star Wars" episodes and "The Force Awakens". HISHE's video proves successful as it turns viral once again.

Anderson said he was inspired to make the guttural "Wookie" Christmas cheer after Paul Todd - who Anderson said looked like he had an aggressive "Chewbacca" mane - was spotted in their office in discussions with Anderson's employer to promote his new Christmas album. He published the song in his blog in 1999 - to the delight of "Star Wars" fans.

Meanwhile, iconic symbol of hope and the daughter of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher suffers a heart attack while in transit from London to LA. Fellow passengers of the flight gave Fisher CPR immediately after the incident and was "unresponsive" as she was delivered to a hospital. According to TMZ-- citing Todd Fisher, brother of Carrie Fisher -- she is currently in stable condition after the incident.

Carrie Fisher was travelling from London to LA as part of her book tour for her new memoir "The Princes Diarist." As her condition remains unclear, her role as Princess Leia in the upcoming "Episode 8" may be put on hold.
