Katy Perry recently went on an "Eat, Pray, Love" type trip as she has gone an a spiritual journey.
Perry tweeted a photo of herelf standing on the top of a volcano on Tuesday. Along with the photo, she says "I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano."
Perry seems to have been inspired by the 2010 film starring Julia Roberts which was based n a best-selling book about a woman who took a spiritual journey.
Perry, 27, hasn't said where she is exactly, but she has given a few details about her spiritual vacation.
On Monday she wrote, "Getting some s*** out my chakra's!" Chakras are the body's energy centers according to Hinduism and Buddhism.
During the weekend she said "Starting the day with a group meditate #breakfastofchampions."
Another mysterious message said "I can feel the phoenix rising."
According to SFGate, Perry has been looking forward to an adventure after spending several months putting out a hit album, touring the world, and releasing a movie.
"I wanna have these life adventures and experiences that are not related to work, so that I can come back after I've done that and make another, hopefully, good record... I'm planning a wilderness adventure where you go out for the weekend and you learn how to hunt and gather and then make fire," she said.
Perry finalized her divorce from Russell Brand in July. Soon after the divorce, there were rumors that Perry was planning a three-month trip to South America that would include Peru.
It is possible that Perry is in Peru as the country is home to many volcanoes, but she's definitely not an a three month trip for now. The singer is set to perform as a fundraising concert for President Barack Obama next month. Perry is one of several artists who will perform at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater on October 7 for the 30 Days to Victory concert. General admission tickets cost $250, but supporters under the age of 40 can get tickets starting at $44. The concert will be followed by a dinner at a nearby restaurant featuring the president. Tickets for the dinner are going for $25,000.
In other Perry news, the singer has been seen out with singer John Mayer on several occasions. There are reports saying that the couple is dating casually.
