The "Pokémon GO" is a mobile game released on the 6th of July 2016, and it has made a worldwide phenomenon with the combination of real and digital world. The game recently had an update which has added a handful of Gen 2 Pokémon and may include more Christmas events.
According to Forbes, the December update of "Pokémon GO" new additions was not expected by everyone. They are actually expecting either the whole Gen 2, or the release of some Legendary Pokémon. There was a possible Christmas/Holiday event for the game, which is similar to the previous Halloween and Thanksgiving double candy/XP events which has generated huge revenue for "Pokémon GO."
However, all players received a Pikachu which wears a Santa-hat and it is possibly hinting an event this December. In addition, the data-hunters at Sylph Road were not able to pin point clues of the actually Christmas event as well. Now most of the players are getting psyched and cannot wait for the Christmas event before it misses the holiday completely.
There are two major discoveries though, and the first was the new present/gift images that have been added. The second major finding is some present icons that have different colors which still have an unknown purpose. A minor discovery was found in the code from a line called (HasHolidayItems), the particular code is not that big of a deal but it is possibly signaling a holiday event is on its way.
On the other hand, Gamespot has reported that an event will be starting this December 25, and players will have a better chance of hatching a Togepi, Pichu, and several recently discovered Pokémon from the Johto Region. Players will also receive a one-time use incubator everyday upon their first PokeStop visit. They also stated that the version of Pikachu wearing a Santa-hat was not supposed to be available until the 29th of December.
However, since it was released earlier it will probably last until the end of the event on the 3rd of January 2017. There is more expected special Pikachu event upon the launch of the upcoming event. In addition, on the 30th of December 2016 up to 8th of January 2017, the players will also be having a better chance at earning Kanto's starter Pokémon and their evolutions. This includes Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise.
