American Eagles Flight Delayed 4 Hours Because Flight Attendants Couldn't Get Along

An argument between two flight attendants caused a four hour delay on an American Eagle flight. The fight was about a cell phone.

Passengers heading to Washington's Reagan National Airport had to endure a four hour delay on American Eagle flight 3823 in New York because two flight attendants couldn't get along. According to witnesses who spoke to NBC Washinton, the fight seemed the start when one flight attendant was on the phone. The other attendant made an announcement saying

"Everyone needs to put their phones away, and electronics and so on, including the flight attendant."

Angered by the subtle attack, the flight attendant on the phone said that she refused to work with the other one.

Since the two couldn't get along, the pilot decided to kick both attendants off the flight. The pilot turned the plane around and went back to the gate so that the flight attendants could be replaced. Passengers had to wait as replacements needed to be found.

"We were informed we were going back to the gate because the flight attendants couldn't work with each other," American Eagle Flight 3823 passenger Dan Alexander told NBC New York.

The flight was only supposed to be 80 minutes long, but passengers waited almost four hours because of the issue.

"I find it hard to believe the flight attendants couldn't work with each other for an hour," passenger Alexander says to NBC New York.

Passengers were outraged by the child-like behavior of the flight attendants.

"It was incredible, totally unbelievable that there was such little professionalism between these women," passenger Marge Lopez says to NBC New York.

The airline is looking into the issue.

American Eagle is owned by American Airlines. AA has been facing a lot of issues as they have had to cancel hundreds of flights due to staff calling in sick and technical issues.
