Pokémon, one of the addictive and viral games that have gained increasing popularity among gamers worldwide. While Most fans of the Pokémon game had expected the release of a legendary Pokémon to the December update by Niantic, the update only introduced a few of baby Gen2 Pokémon. There are some clues, however, that point to the possibility of the company hosting a Christmas holiday event.
After the successful Halloween and thanksgiving Pokémon holiday events that generated a lot of revenue, the company has been silent on whether or not there will be a Christmas holiday event. Despite most fans wanting this holiday event to happen, they only have a Santa hat wearing Pikachu to mark the holiday.
According to Forbes, there is hope that the company will host a Christmas events due to some clues that data-hunters at the Silph Road have uncovered. These data include present/gift images and lines in code such as "HasHolidayItems." Although this clues might seem far-fetched, they may actually point to this much-anticipated Pokémon event.
From the above findings, many have suggested that this present/gift images and coding may be used when a player successfully completes a particular action in the gameplay. Such actions may include spinning a Pokestop or catching a Pokémon and the gift box that comes with it could probably contain better rewards like lucky eggs lures or incubators instead of the regular balls and portions.
The Gift/present systems could be accompanied with other rewards that should motivate gamers to play more. These may include candy increase or experience bonuses all this shouldn't a lot of code to implement to the much-loved game.
As reported by Bgr, most fans expect some kind of event from Niantic during the holiday. Also after how successful the thanksgiving and Halloween events were, it is hard to imagine the possibility of not having a Pokémon event during the approaching major holidays of Christmas and new year. We expect that the company would announce soon on whether fans should get ready for any major event this holiday.
