Apple released that it would have its new software, iOS 6 available for download September 19, but have yet to release the software or make an announcement as to where eager apple users can download it.
There are millions of iPhone and iPad users who are eagerly awaiting the release of iOS 6. Technically Apple has until the end of the day to release the software.
The company announced the new software and its release date at its San Francisco iPhone 5 event. The release is also based on time zones so those in Australia and New Zealand for example may have tow ait until September 20 and Apple may stagger its download availability depending on locale.
The lack of word or availability about the download may exemplify that Apple does not want millions to try and download and install the software at the same time.
iOS 6 brings a wave of more than 200 interesting new features. Some noteworthy ones include, panoramic photos, Apple's brand new Maps App, better Facetime.
The new Maps application is highly anticipated and will be replacing Google maps. It has real time traffic data which offers alternative routes and has 3d images that are taken by helicopter, called 'Flyover'. The maps app will also integrate with Siri so you can ask her for directions on it.
For travelers, the new Passbook application is also highly anticipated. Passbook application allows passengers to us it as their boarding pass for flights.
Many airlines have already said they would accept Passbook, including Delta, American and Virgin Australia.
Likely, the software will be available around 1 PM EST/10 AM PST. This is the time that Apple released the update last year with the iOS 5 and the year before that with IOS 4.
