Toronto International Film Festival: Celebrity Requests $99,000 Bed for Hotel Stay

A list are known for their specific, and sometimes, over-the-top requests during their hotel stays. Mariah Carey for example asks for gold faucets to be installed in her hotel suite before check in. She also has to have a specific kind of mineral water so she and her dog can bath it in daily. Barbara Streissand has asked for rose petals in the toilet, peach colored toilet tissue and 120 peach colored designer bath towels.

One guest, that the hotel has kept unnamed, asked for an extremely expensive bed during their visit to the Toronto Film Festival. The Hazelton Hotel said it received a request for an ultra-lux $99,000 bed.

The Hotel was happy to accommodate the guest with the Hastens Vividus bed. According to the company's website, the bed takes 140 to 160 hours to build and is completely made out of hand. It says, "The use of traditional craftsmanship techniques guarantees high quality. We take the utmost care in creating the Vividus - each bed is made to order according to the customer's specifications and takes between 140 and 160 hours to make. Vividus represents an investment in a better quality of life."

The hotel said it was one of the more unusual requests it has ever received. David Mounteer General Manager of The Hazelton Hotel said to ABC News, "While we will never reveal which one of our A-List guests ordered the bed, we can tell you that the experience has a positive note, as we will be extending our relationship with Hastens to secure their products within our suite mix."

The Hazelton Hotel is a popular spot for celebrities in Toronto especially during the ten day film festival that took place from September 6-16. Past guests of the hotel have included a celebrity roster including, Ben Affleck, Blake Lively and Jon Hamm.
