Ever since Korean singer Psy released his catchy song 'Gangnam Style' with his now famous horse dance in July, people all across the world are catching on and are trying out the dance. Several parody videos have hit the internet and millions of people are watching. From Britney Spears, to Honey Boo Boo and even the US Naval academy, everyone seems to love Gangnam Style.
Psy's "Gangnam Style" is the most viewed K-pop song on Youtube and gets an average of six million views a day. The video currently has over 194 million views.
Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, posted the video as a joke for his Korean audience. He made it to poke fun at the growing materialism in Korea. Psy says that Gangnam Style is about Seoul's Beverly Hills. The 34-year-old is shocked over how popular the video has become.
Now everyone is going Gangnam style.
On a recent episode of Ellen Degeneres' show, she had the Psy as a guest, as well as X-Factor judge Britney Spears. For fun, Ellen has Psy teach Spears and herself how to do the dance. The video on Ellen's YouTube page has over 16 million views.
YouTube User Mike Relm created a Gangnam Style parody featuring the new reality TV star, Honey Boo Boo. The video is just a mashup of clips of Honey Boo Boo to the Honey Boo Boo Style remixed version of the song. This video has been viewed over 260,000 times.
Now the U.S. Naval Academy is getting in on the fun. The 22nd Company of the United States Naval Academy are well choreographed as they dance and lip-sync to the hit song in a hilarious parody.
One clips shows a man straddling another as he thrusts his hips in an elevator, which is based off a scene in the original video. The video has received over 100,000 hits since being posted by DoubleBond Productions on Sunday.
