Smartwatches are not as popular as they first came out. Some even say that the smartwatch market is collapsing. But Samsung's Gear S3 Frontier may change just that.
For starters, Samsung Gear S3 has a great battery life, which can last up to five days if you fully charge it at 100 percent. Many consider this as an amazing advantage over Apple's Watch Series 2, considering that Samsung's Gear S3 smartwatch has a full-colour OLED display.
The first thing that you will notice with the S3 is its size. It's 1.3 inches, compared to its predecessor's 1.2-inch display. It may be big, but it's not uncomfortable, Greenbot reported.
The screen is also a real standout. Engadget said that the S3 screen displays up to 16 million colors, compared to S2's eight million. It even looks like a real watch when the always-on display mode is turned on.
The smartwatch is a real beauty, critics agree. Samsung did it's best to squeeze in a lot of features into its new model. It has an LTE radio to automatic fitness tracking to a form of Samsung Pay that works almost anywhere. The Tizen platform, though, means great apps won't be available just yet.
For those who feel that the Frontier is too masculine-looking, another version of the S3 is available. The Classic version is a bit more elegant. It has a sophisticated, svelte and fancy design. But the Frontier has some features that the Classic doesn't have, like an additional LTE radio for messaging, voice calls and the occasional SOS from the wilderness, while the Classic is left with your standard Bluetooth/WiFi/NFC radios.
The spinning bezel is also something to that users responded well to. Prices for the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier starts at $299, but its impressive features will make the price worth it.
