Most people usually come home to their family for the holidays. But not travel blogger and digital nomad Andrea Jordan. She is currently traveling her way through Latin America, with no return ticket home.
Andrea Jordan is the successful woman behind learndiscoverbefree.com. She is a corporate lawyer and a business strategist. She has been traveling the world since before the digital age, where travels are shared to families and friends in the form of written letters and postcards. When blogs became a thing, she turned her manually written journals to an online community where people can see and learn from her travel experiences.
Just this week, she was featured by stuff.co.nz where she shared her journey through LA, Cuba, Mexico and Guatemala. What does she do while on the road? Aside from being a business strategist, she spends her days by volunteering in animal shelters. She is also a self-made photographer and loves taking photos of nature and animals.
How did her adventure in Latin America started? Jordan shares that she started by her first house-sitting gig in San Pedro. Aside from house-sitting, she was asked to take care of the pet in the house.
House-sitting is a practice where house-sitters get to stay in a house when the owners are away. Some backpackers and travelers have been using this program to save up on accommodation expenses while experiencing how locals live. With her house-sitting experience, she was able to learn new skills she can use in her travels.
Her journey through Guatemala has brought her to her most unforgettable experience in Lake Atitlan. She found her slice of heaven with her view of the cloud-engulfed volcano beyond the lake. After Guatemala, she plans to go to Costa Rica.
As a traveler, Jordan takes everything as an adventure. Buying groceries, riding ferries and learning basic Spanish, these are just things she experience on the road. From her travel experiences, one can learn that working and traveling can be done. And that adventures are in little things we experience daily.
