'House of Cards' Season 5 Canceled: Donald Trump Allegedly Has Something To Do With Beau Willimon's Departure From Show

Known for its political storyline, "House of Cards" became a big hit to the viewers especially because of its interesting plot. But reports are saying that the "House of Cards" Season 5 will no longer air after its original showrunner Beau Willimon left the show.

Apparently, his exit is a big loss for the creative team since he contributed a lot to the success of the series. But Willimon's decision of leaving the show was already final because he was set for another mission which may affect his children's children.

Willimon was serious about creating an opposition group against Donald Trump. Although they indeed worked hard to change the minds of the voters of Trump, it appears that they were not able to succeed since Trump was already voted into office.

With Trump's victory, more people who did not conform to the ideas of Trump came out including Willimon. The former creator of "House of Cards" is one of the well-known personalities who are on the opposition to Trump's presidential victory.

With that, some reports are saying that Willimon's exit from the show was greatly affected by Trump. It is said that one reason that he left the show is the activist group he joined which is an anti-Trump activist group, Heat Street reported. Because he joined the opposition, it is speculated as one cause of his being out of the series. Aside from that, he is also busy writing a new original series.

Fans were worried after Willimon tweeted about Trump which may affect the "House of Cards" Season 5. After that, cancellation rumors then started milling around the web. So is "House of Cards" indeed canceled?

According to Express UK, the Netflix drama was renewed for Season 5 in January 2016 prior to the release of Season 4. This would mean that the show will continue for Season 5. Aside from that, the cancellation rumors are also debunked by casting news wherein new characters will be joining the show.

But as the "House of Cards" Season 5, cancellation rumors continue making rounds on the internet, Netflix is still keeping mum about what will really happen to the show. As of now, what we only know is that Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese are taking over as the new showrunners after Willimon's departure.
