" FassbenerAssassin's Creed" is a movie based on the video game franchise with the same title. The movie features big stars like Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons, but unfortunately, they still are not enough to save the movie.
Fassbender, who is also the movie's co-producer, said that they are planning to make three films based on the popular video game. "This is the sort of origin of his story. We have an idea of where he's going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We'll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he's going to go next," Fassbender said in an interview.
According to CinemaBlend, Century Fox spent somewhere between $130 and $200 million for the movie. They are also hoping to make sequels, however, critics are not very happy with the movie outcome.
Vanity Fair said that the movie's plot is impossible to follow. The story is about Callum (Fassbener) who is a descendant of a group of cloaked warriors called the Assassins. The assassins have been in conflict with the Templars for so long.
The Knight Templar are in a centuries-long pursuit of the Apple Of Eden which will give them control over mankind, and the Assassins oppose them. The action between the two groups doesn't make things quite so clear, reports say.
Callum's journey affects him physically and mentally. The final part of the film, which involves a rebellion, is when everything really popped out. According to critics, the violence in the movie is pretty unmotivated and that the sequences in the set are just disconnected.
"Assassin's Creed" will be released on December 21 in France and the United States is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for "for intense sequences of violence and action, thematic elements and brief strong language."
