Prince Harry: Afghanistan Taliban Threatens to Kill, Kidnap Prince Harry [SEE VIDEO]

The Afghan Taliban said on Monday September 10 they were trying to kidnap or assassinate Prince Harry of Britain who arrived in Afghanistan last week.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said to Reuters via telephone, "We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping ... We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him,"

Mujahid did not go into details to what he called the "Harry operations," to Reuters.

According to the UK's The Telegraph, the Taliban have dismissed Prince Harry's deployment as a propaganda stunt, because of the naked photos of him in Vegas that emerged a few weeks ago.

The 27-year old Prince's role will be to fight against Taliban fighters by firing on insurgents as he operates the apache helicopter's weapons.

Zabiullah Mujahid said to the Telegraph that they believe Prince Harry's arrival was purely symbolic and that he would not even leave the base. He said, "The British Army is under pressure, just like the other forces in Afghanistan, and Britain wants to encourage its soldiers with such actions.

"And also the Prince was seen in naked pictures in England. To cover this shame, maybe he can atone by showing that he is fighting beside their soldiers in Afghanistan."

The British Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the Taliban statement.
