FOX's sitcom TV series "New Girl" just aired their midseason finale titled "Christmas Eve Eve" and it was a sure hit for all its Christmas-loving fans out there. With Jess being herself, getting all pumped up for the holidays, she went out of herself and organized a "Secret Santa" party with her loftmates in episode ten.
The episode circled around the gang as they celebrate Christmas together in their apartment. It started when Jess wanted everyone to spend the holidays by giving gifts to everyone. However, the others are sick of such practices, what with the hassles of trying to decide for what gifts to give and where to buy them. But, Jess would not have any of it so she decided on having Secret Santa's instead, that way, they only have to give a gift to a single person.
As usual, things will not go as planned. In an article released by IBTimes, Jess picked Nick (Jake Johnson), Winston (Lamorne Morris) picked Cece (Hannah Simone), Nick picked Schmidt and Schmidt picked Jess. Everyone received gifts except for Jess. But before everyone got to get their gifts and give one, the group were unsuccessful at first and had to redo things.
First off, Jess planned on giving Nick a pair of sunglasses however, Nick already owns the said sunglasses. With only a short time left to think of new gift ideas, Jess resorted to calling Reagan (Megan Fox) and have her dress up as a gift. Winston, on the other hand, originally bought a gift for Cece online but in order for the others not to know about it, he named the receiver's name with a different name. When the package was delivered in the apartment, Schmidt was the one who opened the door and innocently told the delivery boy that it wasn't theirs.
Meanwhile, Nick is lucky enough to not get into any unlucky event and he was able to give Schmidt his planned gift, a pair of cashmere socks.Cece also was able to give Winston a check as her gift. However, Schmidt also has a gift for Winston, resulting to Jess not receiving any.
Fortunately, the group were able to make Jess' Christmas happy in the end. According to TVO, they recreated Jess' old Christmas tradition of looking out at the window waiting for the snow to fall while listening to Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). It was a merry Christmas, indeed.
