As Amazon debuts the new Kindle Fire HD, Travelocity, the world's largest travel company, has released a new, free Kindle Fire app.
The Travelocity Kindle Fire app offers Mobile Exclusive Deals and even allows users to book flights, hotels and car rentals. Travelocity's Mobile Exclusive Deals, found on the new app, present customers with deals that are 10 percent lower than those found on the website used by regular users. The app also allows users to book trips right from their Kindle device, including same day hotels. Users are also able to view hundreds of customer reviews to help them make the best travel choices.
The Kindle app also gives users the ability to view their trip details in the "My Trips" tab on the app while online or while disconnected.
"With an anticipated 85 billion downloads in the mobile app industry by the end of 2012, it is important Travelocity stays at the forefront of the mobile and tablet ecosystems," said Jason Fulmines, director of mobile at Travelocity. "Amazon's popular Kindle Fire tablet offers Travelocity customers another outlet to book via their favorite mobile device."
Those who use Travelocity have been able to use the Adroid app version on Kindle Fire tablets already, but this new app is specially designed for Kindle Fire's 7-inch IPS display and 1024x600 resolution.
The Travelocity Kindle Fire app can be downloaded for free on Amazon's Kindle Store. For more information on the Travelocity Kindle Fire app and other Travelocity mobile apps for the iPad, iPhone, and Android, visit www.travelocity.com/mobile .
