The last supermoon of 2016 was indeed a stunning sight but despite that beauty, there are claims that the Christmas supermoon will have a different effect on the people.
Evening Standard reveals the breathtaking beauty of the orange orb as it rises to the sky over the London skyline. Artist James Burns took the photo saying that he knew the moon will rise from in the northeast and so he positioned himself on the southwest London.
But despite this interesting sight, some are saying that the appearance of the moon will cause problems and tensions this Christmas. The moon would affect the people who would make the season a "battleground", especially during Christmas shopping.
This is because there had been three consecutive larger moons at the end of the year. With that, it resulted into heightened emotions.
“Supermoons are not unusual, we get several a year, but it is unusual to have three in a row and to have them at the end of the year and at the end of the ‘9’ cycle. There is a lot of stress in the ether, and a lot of pent up emotions built up over time," said Rose Smith, the head of the Absolute Soul Secrets, according to Daily Mail. “People have to tighten the reins on their tongues otherwise feelings might come out all over the place.”
It is said that unlike the regular moon, Supermoons have a more intense effect on people. As mentioned, this could be seen during shopping time. Smith even said that she had visions of people "fighting over some heels."
This lunar spectacle is the last time this year for the moon to be closest to the Earth. The biggest one, in about 70 years, occurred in November. Said appearance of the Supermoon is the first time since the Second World War that a full moon came near to Earth.
