The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) starts Thursday September 6 and ends September 16th. The festival, which is the most successful public film festival in the world, is comprised of world film premieres and parties.
The line up this year for the 37th annual festival includes an opening slot to the film "Looper" featuring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The sci-fi film features Gordon-Levitt as a younger version of Willis an assassin. Gordon-Levitt is tasked with the business of killing his future self.
TIFF hosts a number of award winning flicks, the last five Best Picture winners were all screened at the festival before opening in theatres.
Other flicks to watch out for include, Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master," which covers loosly the origins of Scientology and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix.
Ben Afflecks' film which he directed and starred in, "Argo," a 1970s hostage thriller movie will also premiere. Favorite, Bill Murray also stars in "Hyde Park on Hudson" playing FDR.
The Festival always brings A-list celebrities to gather in Toronto. Toronto tourism's website states, "Just some of the celebrities expected to be in Toronto this September include Joss Whedon, Ben Affleck, Dustin Hoffman, Lana & Andy Wachowski, Bruce Willis, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Ryan Gosling, Robert De Niro, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Jake Gyllenhaal, Julianne Moore, and Johnny Depp."
