Thursday will mark the day every democrat has been waiting for, with Barack Obama receiving his nomination for the Democratic party and giving a speech. The events at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina start at 6 p.m. Thursday but there are events occurring all day.
No specific times have been given for President Obama's or Vice President Joe Biden's prime-time speeches, but Obama is expected to speak at approximately 10:00 p.m.
Because of the chance of thunderstorms, convention organizers changed plans for Obama to speak in a 74,000 seat outdoor stadium for the convention arena that only holds 15,000.
