The latest update for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" has just gone live, and with it are some new game modes, the remaining original maps, and supply drops, which will serve as a new mode of microtransaction. The update is available for PS4 and Xbox One.
The six remaining original maps that were released in the latest "COD" updates includes Bloc, Showdown, Strike, Pipeline, Countdown, and Wet Work. Currently, there are 16 multiplayer maps for fans to explore free of charge. The Winter Crash map, which was once originally exclusive to the PC version, was also included in the update. Two new game modes namely Hardpoint and Gun Game are also available to play.
Raven Software also revealed through a website blog that the Ugly Sweater and Gift Wrap, two special weapon camos, can be obtained whenever a player completes the challenges on Winter Crash. Operation Arctic Wolf drops in the latest update and brings a whole bunch of customization items including calling cards, emblems, weapon camos, combat uniforms, customization pieces for weapons, and some new melee weapons. Significantly, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" introduces a new female character into the mix.
The items taken from supply drops can be crafted with Parts, the game's customization currency. Raven Software states that all of the items can be obtained organically and size of the updates varies by system. For the PS4, it is said to be around 17 GB while the Xbox One update comes in at just a little over 27 GB.
According to a report by the Daily Star, players who are unable to see the update are advised to restart the consoles and select the "Check for Update" on the highlighted menu of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered." The website also reports that a new patch update for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" (patch 1.06) is now also available for the PS4 and XBox One.
