Travel Tips: Discover Puerto Princesa and El Nido Palawan, Philippines In Three Days

Get yourself an ultimate beach getaway and come to the exquisite paradise of Palawan. You might think you need to have plenty of cash and time first before you can get a taste of this paradise. But kid you not; you can actually visit Palawan and all its wonders in just three days.

For Day 1, you should be landed in Puerto Princesa, Palawan's main capital, before noon. After that, book yourself a van and go straight to El Nido. It's a pretty long drive ( 4-5 hours ) so make sure you have plenty of snacks on hand in case you get hungry. You can view the picturesque landscape of the island through your van window, so the long drive is actually worth it.

You'll probably arrive around 5 to 6 pm, and there you can choose for yourself tons of accommodations that would suit your level of comfort. Most accommodations offer tour packages as well, so you can definitely check that out. For dinner, the shoreline of El Nido is lined with beach bars and restaurants (much like in Boracay), and you can eat while being caressed by the soft waves of the ocean.

Day 2, wake up early because most El Nido Island Hopping tours start at 8 am. Make sure you're in touch with your local tour guide so you won't be left out! If you're a solo traveler, chances are you would be joining a certain group for the whole tour. But it's okay because it's a great way to meet new friends!

There are often 4 island tour packages to choose from, and most of them are done by sunset. For lunch, you're treated to a seafood buffet in an island stopover, and you get to eat one of the most succulent and fresh seafood in your life. Make sure you take tons of pictures to show to your friends!

You'll probably be tired after all the island hopping, but if you can still muster a few energy left then try and enjoy the night partying with the locals and other tourists in the beach. There are different beach bars to choose from, with world-class cocktails and ice-cold beers. Sum it up by dancing in the sand with the local music in your bare feet and you'll definitely have the time of your life!

In Day #3, make sure you leave El Nido as early as you can so you can arrive early at Sabang Wharf. From there, wait for your scheduled tour of the Underground River, and if you arrive early enough, you can be there before noon. From the Sabang port, you'll ride a boat for 15 minutes before you arrive at the river. Puerto Princesa Underground River is one of the 7 Wonders of Nature, and you can be immersed in its ethereal beauty for just a few hours.

You can get yourself lunch at Sabang itself (there are tons of beach restaurants to choose from) or you can make your way back to Puerto Princesa at once. Once you're back in the city, treat yourself to one of its famous restaurants, Kalui, where you'll be met with delicious and fresh seafood again. Make sure you get a reservation because the restaurant usually gets filled up fast!

After your lunch, you can finally go to the airport for your flight. If you want to bring souvenirs for your family and friends, there are tons of local souvenir shops inside the airport itself.

So that's how you get a non-stop Palawan adventure in just 3 days. And by the end of it, you'll be wishing to go back.
