Lamar Odom has been checked into a 30-day rehabilitation program after confirming approval of his and Khloe Kardashian's divorce on November 9, 2016. The facility is located in San Diego, California, close to his family and friends.
L.A. Times reported that a judge finally put an end to the three-year divorce case between Odom and Kardashian. A few days after that, Odom decided to attend rehab for 30 days for precautionary measures since the holidays are just around the corner. Although the program is for a substance abuse program, a source told the People that Odom is now clean and drug-free.
It can be recalled that the former NBA star and the reality television star dated in 2009. After a month, they have publicly announced their marriage in September 2009 and have been together for four years.
It was in 2013 when Khloe Kardashian first attempted to file for divorce after Lamar Odom allegedly cheated and started using substance for two years. In July 2015, both signed the divorce papers. However in October 2015, three months after the first attempt in divorce, Odom overdosed in a brothel in Nevada. Police investigations reported that it was the combination of alcohol, cocaine and an herbal supplement that nearly took his life. Kardashian decided to postpone the divorce after her now-estranged husband fully recovered.
It was in May of this year when Khloe Kardashian decided to push through with the divorce. After waiting for more than a year and two attempts, Odom and Kardashian's divorce is set to be finalize on December 17, 2016.
An insider to the People said that Lamar Odom is more than willing to get back to his old drug-free self. The former Clippers and Lakers star is trying very hard to take care of himself and more importantly, his health. The divorce with his soon-to-be ex-wife was more than an eye-opener for him to be better. His family and friends are behind him every step of the way.
