DNC Convention 2012 Schedule: Betty White Petitioned to Introduce Barack Obama [SEE VIDEO]

A petition at Change.org is asking for former Golden Girls actress, Betty White, to introduce President Barack Obama at the DNC.

Clint Eastwood introduced Mitt Romney at the RNC and now some democrats hope that White will give a speech in support of the President.

The full petition written by Peter Slutsky from Brooklyn, N.Y says:

"Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: the democratic party.

Clint Eastwood, the Republican's "mystery guest" at the RNC, gave a bad name to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney.

You know what?

Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!

Take action today if you want to see a real [old] Hollywood icon get a political introduction right! "

By 4:34 p.m. the petition had with 9,609 supporters with a goal to reach 10,000 by the end of Tuesday. With only 391 to go, they have a good chance of fulfilling it. A Facebook group called, "Bring Betty White to the DNC" has more than 28,000 members, showcasing her popularity.

White, 90, has openly endorsed Obama for reelecation saying to the Associated Press in May that she, ""very, very much favors" the president and likes how "how he represents us."

The President and White have spent time together in the past, with Betty visiting the With House in June. Barack Obama also filmed a funny 90th birthday greeting for White earlier this year.

The Democratic National Convention starts this Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina with President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden set to speak on Thursday.
