Last Sunday was a great night for the winners of the annual Critics Choice Awards. It was a sort of early Christmas gift by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, and a night full of well-acclaimed actors and actresses. The awards night was hosted by T.J. Miller and was aired live on A&E.
The awards were divided into the Movie and Television categories. And the highlighted winners for the awards in the Movie category are:
La La Land for Best Picture; Casey Affleck for Best Actor in his role in the movie Manchester by the Sea; Natalie Portman as Best Actress for the movie Jackie; Mahershala Ali for the award Best Supporting Actor in the movie Moonlight; Viola Davis as the Best Supporting Actress in her role in Fences; Lucas Edges for Best Young Actor/Actress for his role in Manchester By The Sea; Moonlight as the Best Acting Ensemble; and Damien Chazelle as the Best Director for his movie La La Land.
For the Television category, the winners are: Game Of Thrones for Best Drama Series; Bob OdenKirk as Best Actor in a Drama Series; Evan Rachel Wood as Best Actress in a Drama Series; John Lithgow as Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series; Thandie Newton as the Best Actress in a Drama Series; Silicon Valley as the Best Comedy Series; and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series for his role as Negan in The Walking Dead.
It was also revealed later in the show that Ryan Reynolds bagged the Entertainer of the Year award. Meanwhile, Viola Davis was also bestowed the #SeeHer award.
La La Land went home with 8 trophies that night, including the Best Picture, Best Director and some other minor awards. The musical was starred by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and was a clear favorite of the critics.
