Marvel's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie trailer was first seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On December 8, 2016. In the movie, Spider-Man and Iron Man team, a somewhat sequel to their student-mentor relationship in the "Captain America: Civil War" released earlier this year.
The trailer features Iron Man (played by none other than Robert Downey Jr.) giving advice to the younger superhero Spider-Man (played by Tom Holland). According to The Guardian, the story evolves when Peter Parker (Spider-Man's alter ego) comes home to his Aunt May's house (played by Marisa Tomei) after joining the Avengers for some time. Unlike the previous Spider-Man movies in the past three decades, this new addition is surprisingly centered to Parker's high school and teenage life.
Aside from the story plot, Spider-Man also upgraded his skills with more high-tech additions to his trademark red and blue onesie. In the teaser, we can see that Spidey doesn't only Tarzan his way in between buildings, but he can actually fly. Thanks to his high-tech "web-wings". With a new plot and a new costume, it is only appropriate for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" to have a new villain. This is in the character of Vulture (played by Michael Keaton's), a green-eyed mechanical villain. The only downside to all these changes is the absence of Mary Jane, Peter Parker's love affair in the previous Spider-Man movies. However, it is being replaced by Parker's high school crush, Liz Allen (played by Laura Harrier).
The Telegraph has plotted the different Spider-Man eras from the first television series made in 1977, "The Amazing Spider-Man", until his most recent appearance in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War. "Spider-Man" is the highest-selling Marvel comics of all time. That's why it came as no surprise that this will be the fourth movie in one decade. Regardless, fans are extremely excited for the movie to be released internationally. "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is directed by Director Jon Watt and is set to be released to theaters on July 7, 2017.
