Several Six Flags theme parks are getting new additions around the country for next season. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in California will add an extraordinary new dolphin show to its list of endless entertainment. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is teaming up with theatrical visionary Neil Goldberg and his acclaimed Cirque Dreams entertainment brand to present a new cutting edge dolphin show featuring Cirque Dreams next year.
Starring in the show will be the park's own dolphins along with acrobats, aerialists and other Cirque Dreams performers. Together, the dolphins and performers are sure to amaze crowds at the Dolphin Harbor Theater in the new show called Cirque Dreams Splashtastic.
"We are excited to bring the unique magic of Cirque Dreams to our guests," said Dale Kaetzel, park president in a release. "This mesmerizing new water spectacle is a great complement to our existing line-up of rides, shows and animal attractions making us Northern California's best entertainment destination."
Cirque Dreams founder and Broadway Director Neil Goldberg also discussed his excitement over the partnership.
"It is our goal to create a visually exciting experience of unparalleled Cirque Dreams showmanship," Goldberg said in a release. "Cirque Dreams Splashtastic will be one of those unique and memorable entertainment attractions that will captivate audiences of all ages."
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's dolphins already play a big role in the park as they are part of a swim with dolphins program called Dolphin Discovery, the only program of its kind within Northern California. In addition to swimming with dolphins, guests can also sign up to participate in the Trainer for a Day series, where they can learn what a dolphin trainer does.
The new dolphin show will be just one of many wildlife shows at the park in addition to its seven thrilling roller coasters, children's theme areas and much more. Other wildlife shows include the raucous Pinnipeds of the Caribbean sea lion show, Odin's Temple of the Tiger, Birds of the World, Elephant Encounter, and Walrus Experience educational demonstration shows.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has already started selling 2013 season passes for low prices. The passes include unlimited visits for the rest of the 2012 season and all of the 2013 season. Guests also have until Oct. 28 to take advantage of a deal that will upgrade a Season Pass four-pack to a Gold Season pass which includes free admission and free season parking to any Six Flags Theme Park.
